hair habitat owner, Frank Procopio, has literally returned to his roots. Born
and raised in Syracuse, Frank, moved to NYC to pursue his theatrical passion. It
was in NYC that he first considered a career in hair styling. He worked and
trained with some of the most talented stylists in the city and soon garnered
his own corner of fame...working as the technical director of a hair salon
focusing on natural hair care. Returning to Syracuse, he envisioned a salon
environment that evoked the kind of beauty he saw in healthy tresses. Hair
Habitat is that salon, where beauty is extolled and hair evolves.
Together with his wife, Suzy, they created a beautiful 2nd floor space in a
1920s building using scrapped, rehabbed and recycled materials, and featuring
special touches like no-VOC paint, soy-based cushions, recycled glass, and
organic cotton panels. Appliances are energy-efficient and disconnected each
night to save electricity. Business cards, which serve as appointment cards,
were designed and printed using tree-free paper and soy inks.
Frank and Suzy have a talented team of stylists who share their vision for being
good stewards of the earth. Enhancing natural beauty doesn’t have to be toxic.
Doing their part to preserve the environment and transform and create style...
they describe as intoxicating!
